Henrietta Blum wants everyone to be able to enjoy this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.
Standard we follow
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This also covers the European standard EN 301 549.
What we have done
- All images have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- The whole site can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a "Skip to content" link.
- Text and controls meet WCAG colour-contrast requirements.
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks and labelled form fields.
- The layout adapts to small screens and zoom up to 400% without loss of content.
- Smooth scrolling is turned off for visitors who ask their device to reduce motion.
- We do not use accessibility overlay widgets; accessibility is built into the page code.
Known limitations
The pattern previews are artwork. Their descriptions name the pattern and its motifs, but cannot capture every visual detail. If you would like a fuller description of any design, please write to us and we will gladly provide one.
